Excerpt From Script “Graffiti”
Revised October 2014 – Spec Script

FADE IN:

EXT. ALLEY – NIGHT

DAMIEN LOUIS (15) stands in an alleyway in front of a wall
filled with different styles of graffiti. At the end of the
alley stands a fence leaving only one entrance and exit. He
takes a spray can from his backpack and starts to paint, his
name, on an empty spot on the wall. Police lights begin to
flash. A POLICE OFFICER approaches as Damien starts to run
away.

POLICE OFFICER
Stop right there!

Damien runs, but has nowhere to go.

DAMIEN
(sotto)
Shit.

INT. LAW OFFICE – DAY

Damien, dressed in a shirt and tie, sits next to MARY LOUIS
(38). In front of them, behind a desk, is ANN COPELAN (32).
A nameplate on the desk states her name and her title
juvenile probation officer. Ann is searching through piles
of papers and folders.

ANN
Ah, here we go, Damien Louis. So
since this was Damien’s first
offensive he’s only required to
finish 15 hours of community
service.

MARY
Community service? Doing what,
exactly?

ANN
Well, I only have two options at
the moment. It’s either trash pick
up along the highway or helping at
the nursing home.

MARY
I think Damien helping at the
nursing home would be the best
option. I think he needs to be
interacting with other people.

Damien gives his mother a glare.

ANN
Okay. No problem. I will let them
know and Damien you can start
tomorrow after school.

DAMIEN
Great.
